Upgrading mid 2012 i5 processor to i7 ???

HI , I have a Mac Pro Mid2012 i5 processor. Can i upgrade it to i7 ? If so where is the best place to get it.

The Mac Pro you are referring to uses Intel Xeon processors, not i5 or i7 processors. The processors can be upgraded as long as you use ones that use the same socket profile. These forums aren't intended to help with such a project, but you will find more information searching Google. Actual components can be found on eBay or Amazon.

That is not true. The Xeon and i7 use the same socket but an i7 will not function in a Mac Pro since the EFI firmware will not properly recognize an i7.
